Lafayette Gourmet, Dubai Mall

Lafayette Gourmet, part of Galeries Lafayette at the Dubai Mall boasts of an extensive multi-cuisine menu.

Although, it is classified as a ‘Supermarket’ by some, this French-style gourmet store has been successful in re-creating a connoisseur food stop, the kind that are popular Europe.

I got the feeling of being at a ‘one-stop shop for all your needs’ when it comes to food. Having access to all kinds of sumptuousness is probably a dream-come-true for a true gastronome.  The concept behind building Lafayette was to be able to sell foods (ingredients) that may not be accessible to chefs, those aspiring to be one or for people with a die-hard passion for cooking.

Keeping in line with the temperatures, Lafayette Gourmet has prepared a selection of mouth-watering foods to help keep its visitors feeling fresh, energetic and lively this summer.

I tried the Gazpacho Andaluz, a traditional, chilled, Spanish tomato soup, prepared live by Chef Russell (watch the video for the recipe) just for Dubai in a Frame, hence my dear readers!

Also, on offer is some yummy mint lemon sorbet to cool you off, pan-friend snapper with crushed new potatoes, steamed summer vegetables and cream of leek sauce, summer berry pudding with vanilla ice cream….. As if this isn’t enough, the gourmet offers a summery selection of ready-to-cook items at the diverse tasting stations, including an ice cream counter and a fresh fruit juice station.

For reservations or more information, you can contact Lafayette Gourmet on 04 382 7335.
